Technical Diffi-why-did-this-have-to-happen!!!

Well, my computer went belly up (currently updating from a friends computer). It would seem our hardrive has crashed and the fine folks/wallet rapists at Computer Renaissance are repairing and trying to recover three years worth of memories. I believe we'll have it back by the weekend and I have PLENTY of stuff to update on. Funny how my computer crashing coincided with my having tons of ideas...

I just wanted to do a quick update, out of habit and the fact that I totally miss blogging/reading blogs (as nerdy as that sounds). Be back soon....

So sad. I'm sorry. I fear that happening all the time.

we've had our computer since 06' I'm sure it's going to take a crap on me soon. I need to go get an external hard drive soon.

Hope to see you soon in blog land.

where's this place you've taken your computer to retrieve the info from the hard drive? I need to find a good one (that works) and isn't super expensive because my dad's hard drive crapped out a few months ago and he was keeping track of all our family tree stuff. he had hundreds of years of information about our family. :(

so if you could let me know where you've taken it & how it goes & about how much it cost you I would GREATLY appreciate it. :)

@Everybody- thanks for the well wishes! We're back in action and all family photos have been retrieved. ALL my music however...but I'd rather have to re-download some songs than have three years of memories gone! Can't win 'em all.

@Alicia- We took our computer to Computer Renaissance up here. They managed to retrieve all the pictures after installing a new hardrive (they had to order it from whoever made the our original hardrive) and it cost us about $380. I think you can also take it over to Best Buy since they have the Geek Squad over there, but I'm not sure of their pricing. I'd look into seeing if your dad's computer has a warranty and maybe having them reimburse you with a new hardrive then taking it over and having Geek Squad install and retrieve the data. Hope that helps! I'm a computer idiot. Sorry to hear about the computer crashing. It's really stressful.
